About us

Hello, I'm the face behind Hens and Honey Soap. I live with my husband and our boys just outside of Portland, Oregon. We love to spend time in nature foraging for plants and mushrooms or taking trips to the Oregon coast to explore tide pools and collect sea glass. I’ve always been very inspired by nature. Some of my earliest memories are growing flowers and selling them at my flower stand my dad built me for my birthday. At some point growing plants became a way for me to preserve over the years. We live on two acres where we have large gardens that I preserve to feed us throughout the year. The main things I grow are tomatoes and grapes. Making soap has been a way for me to blend my love of gardening with caring for my family and home and a way to preserve my herbs and flowers into something useful. Using all natural products is very important to me and I found it hard to find good, clean soap when my first baby was born. I decided to start making our own and fell in love with the textures, colors, and suds. That was almost 10 years ago and I still find so much joy in making soap.
