Lanolin & Tallow Lip Butter

My son and I have long suffered from dry, cracked lip. Often bleeding and flaky. We’ve forked over a lot of money over the years on high end lip products and have tried many. I knew when I started Hens and Honey I wanted to experiment with natural ingredients until I found recipe that worked wonders. Something that heals and softens and doesn’t leave a gross taste in your mouth. My biggest pet peeve of lip balms. This recipe remains unscented only slightly smelling of the natural lanolin. 

Two ingredients I knew I wanted to include were lanolin and tallow. 

-Lanolin is a rich, natural wax that comes from sheep’s wool. It closely mimics the oils our own skin produces, which makes it especially good at softening and protecting dry lips. Lanolin forms a breathable barrier that helps lock in moisture and prevent chapping, leaving lips feeling smooth and nourished.

-Grass-fed tallow is naturally rich in skin-loving nutrients that soften, protect, and deeply nourish dry lips.

-Jojoba oil is lightweight and nourishing, helping to soften lips while supporting their natural moisture.

-Beeswax creates a natural protective barrier that helps seal in moisture while shielding lips from dryness. It also helps keep the lip balm hard, preventing melting.
